Pedrali at Stockholm

This week’s Stockholm Furniture Fair – one of our favourite European shows – was the venue chosen by Pedrali, one of our favourite Italian furniture design houses, to unveil its new Arki-Table. Best known as a chair maker, Pedrali has come up with an elegant and versatile unit that looks good for office or domestic applications. The structure consists of four trestle legs in varnished steel and an extruded aluminium profile supporting a 6mm laminate top measuring 300x100cm.

Also at Stockholm, Pedrali was showing Frida – an Odoardo Fioravanti design that seems to us to be right on top of wood processing technology. Lightweight and resistant, it’s a curved plywood shell on a solid oak structure, giving a dynamic appearance that is unusual for a wooden chair. It’s been around for a while (back in July 2011 it won the ADI Compasso d’Oro award) but deserves recognition.
